Global Volunteer Day 2012: Handle With Care
120 countries, 600 projects and over 60,000 volunteers - the sheer size of Global Volunteer Day last year shows just how deeply entrenched volunteerism is throughout Deutsche Post DHL's global workforce. And while the numbers are still being tallied, Global Volunteer Day 2012, under the motto "Handle With Care," certainly matched last year's success. Run from September 6-16, our volunteers once again lent their helping hands to local community projects such as painting, construction and yard work at kindergartens, field trips and summer festivities with seniors and people with a physical or mental impairment, helped out in schools and charitable organizations, and participating in bird protection projects at our corporate headquarters in Bonn, Germany, among other locations around the world.
