Global partner for the world of fashion
DHL returns to the runway at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin
DHL and the fashion industry - a perfect fit.
For the sixth consecutive year DHL is again Official Logistics Partner for the 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. Top German designer Michael Michalsky launches his highly-anticipated autumn 2013 collection at the Michalsky StyleNite. The sponsorship of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin is part of a global relationship.
DHL maintains as the Official Logistics Provider for IMG Fashion Weeks around the world. DHL also sponsors fashion events in Paris, Milan, London, New York City, Tokyo, Zurich, Mexico City, Moscow, Mumbai, Toronto, Istanbul, Miami and Sydney. As specialists in domestic and international shipping and logistics, DHL masters the fashion supply chain - from procurement of material to sample production, quality control, warehousing and processing of garments to direct delivery to shops. DHL's customers include both large retail groups with complex distribution requirements as well as small, independent fashion boutiques requiring a one-off service.
Extra routes
The fashion industry, a $250 billion global business, relies heavily on flexible and intelligent logistics solutions that must be managed around the world. To ensure efficiency, DHL Global Forwarding has invested in several Fashion and Apparel Centers of Excellence in key Asia Pacific markets. These centers provide consultancy services, logistic solutions and best practice management to help DHL's fashion & apparel customers better manage the flow of materials from manufacturing to retailing sites.
To accommodate increased volume during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, DHL Express has added extra routes in Manhattan's fashion district. For critical last-minute deliveries, customers can utilize DHL's helicopter service to transport shipments arriving at its international gateway at John F. Kennedy International Airport directly into lower Manhattan - a handy option for designers since collections sometimes arrive only a few hours before they hit the runway.
